Level 3 Teaching Assistant

The headteacher of an amazing specialist provision in the Carnforth (LA5) area is seeking to employ 2 teaching assistants. These vacancies have been approved due to funding being granted to the school. The school caters for children with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), Autism and challenging behaviour. The headteacher is keen to welcome applicant who have a desire to remove the barriers for learning and encourage children to achieve to the best of their ability.

As these can be challenging environments to be successful you would ideally have experience in this sector and have worked with children who PMLD, Autism and challenging behaviour however this doesn’t necessarily have to be in a school setting and can be from care, residential, youth work, prison service, sports coaching, personal experiences etc!

Role of Level 3 Teaching Assistant

  • Ensure children are happy, safe, and stimulated
  • Staf flexible and open minded
  • Develop trusting relationships with the children
  • Supervise and monitor children
  • Organise daily activities
  • Develop strategies for children to cope in high pressure situations
  • Provide personal care
  • Follow EHCP’s (Educational Health Care Plans)
  • Liaise with outside agencies, class teachers and SENCO

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
