Learning Support Practitioner
Job description
Teaching Personnel are looking for a Learning Support Practitioner to work within a warm, forward thinking primary school team. This is a hands-on, purposeful role that is deeply rewarding. Your work will be varied, meaningful, and rooted in helping children access learning in the way that suits them best.
Location: Swansea
Daily rate: £92.63 per day
What You’ll Be Doing As A Learning Support Practitioner
-
Working alongside the class teacher to support whole‑class learning
-
Supporting behaviour for learning and promoting positive routines
-
Preparing resources, setting up activities, and contributing to a calm, purposeful classroom atmosphere
-
Working closely with pupils who have ALN, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, or social‑emotional challenges
-
Helping pupils regulate, focus, and engage
-
Creating a supportive, encouraging environment where children can practise skills at their own pace
-
Building trusting relationships that help children feel safe, confident, and ready to learn

Someone patient, proactive, and genuinely passionate about helping children succeed

A team player who can adapt, problem‑solve, and stay calm under pressure

Experience with ALN is helpful, but a willingness to learn is just as important

A warm communicator who can build strong relationships with pupils and staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
