Learning Support Assistant

Teaching Personnel is working with a specialist educational setting in the Fareham area that is looking to appoint enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join their growing team. The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils both in and out of the classroom to access learning.
  • Help deliver tailored educational programmes and interventions.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and positive engagement.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
  • Support pupils with social, emotional, and personal development.
  • Provide personal care where required.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Have a genuine passion for education and supporting young people with additional needs.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can remain calm, patient, and consistent in their approach.
  • Are adaptable, flexible, and able to respond to individual needs.
  • Can motivate and inspire children and young people.
  • Are committed to improving life chances and outcomes for pupils.
  • Can work independently as well as part of a wider team.
  • Have an understanding of social, emotional, and behavioural needs.

Previous SEN experience is desirable but not essential, as full training and support will be provided for the right candidates.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
