Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Primary Schools | Southampton

Teaching Personnel are recruiting Learning Support Assistants for primary schools across Southampton. Support pupils in KS1 and KS2, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), 1:1 and in small groups, helping them build confidence, independence, and engagement.

We welcome applicants with SEN experience or transferable skills from childcare, youth work, coaching, or support roles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing 1:1 support for pupils with additional learning needs
• Supporting small group learning and targeted interventions
• Assisting the class teacher with lessons and classroom activities
• Helping pupils remain engaged, focused, and confident in their learning
• Promoting a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have experience working with children or young people
• Have knowledge or understanding of SEN (desirable but not essential)
• Be patient, adaptable, and supportive
• Be confident working independently and as part of a team
• Be passionate about helping children achieve their full potential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
