Teaching Personnel is currently seeking passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistants to work in SEN secondary schools across Portsmouth. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in young people’s lives while enjoying the flexibility of term-time, school-hour working.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with additional needs to achieve their full potential. Working closely with teachers and SEN specialists, you will help create an inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) during lessons and school activities
• Provide 1:1 and small group support
• Assist teachers with lesson delivery and behaviour management
• Encourage student engagement, independence, and confidence
• Support students’ emotional wellbeing and social development

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working with children or young people (SEN experience desirable but not essential)
• A patient, caring, and positive attitude
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• An Enhanced Child Only DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• The right to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
