We are working in partnership with a well-established specialist education setting based in the Harbourside area of Poole.
The school is recognised for its nurturing approach, strong pastoral care, and commitment to supporting pupils to re-engage with learning.

The Role
-
Full-time Learning Support Assistant position
-
Supporting pupils aged 10–16 with SEMH needs
-
Working hours: 8.30am to 4pm
-
Secondary provision available
-
Supporting pupils in lessons, small groups, and one-to-one where required
-
Assisting pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour support, and engagement in learning
-
Immediate start available
Student Needs
-
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
-
Anxiety and low mood
-
Attachment and detachment disorders
-
Behavioural challenges linked to emotional regulation difficulties
Requirements
-
Minimum of 6 months’ childcare experience, particularly supporting children or young people with SEN
-
Experience working with SEMH needs is highly desirable
-
Calm, patient, and resilient approach
-
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
-
Ability to work effectively as part of a supportive team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
