Job description

Learning Support Assistant – Full Time

Are you an experienced professional who is passionate about helping children succeed? We are looking for a committed Learning Support Assistant to join our specialist educational setting in Bournemouth.

This full-time role is ideal for someone who is confident, resilient, and motivated to support pupils with additional needs in a nurturing, structured environment.

What the role involves:

  • Providing one-to-one and small-group support to children between the ages of 4-11 with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH)

  • Assisting teachers with learning activities and tailored interventions

  • Helping pupils develop confidence, independence, and emotional regulation

  • Contributing to behaviour support strategies and positive routines

  • Working collaboratively with a skilled, supportive team

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN or behavioural needs, those with a background in youth work or sports coaching will also be considered

  • Communicates clearly and builds positive relationships

  • Can remain calm under pressure and use a proactive, solution-focused approach

  • Is reliable, patient, and dedicated to helping every pupil achieve their potential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
