Teaching Personnel are looking for a patient, nurturing and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Arundel, providing dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil.

The pupil has high SEN needs and requires consistent individual support throughout the school day. A key part of this role will be supporting her with emotional regulation, helping her to feel settled, secure and able to engage positively with her learning.

At times, the pupil can become overwhelmed and may express her emotions through shouting or crying. She does not display physical behaviours, but she will need an adult who can remain calm, reassuring and consistent during periods of heightened emotion.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have previous experience supporting children with SEN or additional needs
• Be calm, patient, nurturing and resilient
• Have an understanding of emotional regulation and behaviour as communication
• Be confident providing dedicated 1:1 support
• Be able to build a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil
• Work effectively alongside the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team
• Have a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

Previous experience within a primary school or SEN setting would be highly beneficial.
