About the Role
Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a high-performing and ambitious secondary school in Northamptonshire to recruit a Lead of Business Studies for a September 2026 start.
This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced Business Studies teacher looking to take the next step in their career. You will lead and manage the Business Studies provision, driving high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement across the subject area.
As a key middle leader, you will be responsible for developing a high-performing team, creating an engaging and relevant curriculum, and fostering a culture of high expectations and motivation among both staff and students.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
- Lead and manage the Business Studies team to deliver outstanding outcomes
- Develop and implement a high-quality curriculum across Key Stages 4 and 5
- Monitor teaching and learning, ensuring consistently high standards
- Use assessment data to drive improvement and raise attainment
- Establish a culture of high expectations, engagement, and achievement
- Contribute to whole-school development priorities
Teaching & Learning
- Deliver engaging and effective Business Studies lessons
- Inspire students to develop an understanding of enterprise, finance, and the wider business world
- Differentiate teaching to support learners of all abilities
- Promote strong academic and employability skills
Staff Development
- Support, coach, and develop colleagues within the department
- Share best practice and contribute to CPD
- Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment
Wider Contribution
- Promote enterprise and real-world learning opportunities
- Contribute to the wider life of the school and enrichment activities
- Support students in developing skills for future education and employment

The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching Business Studies at KS4 (KS5 desirable)
- Previous leadership experience or readiness to step into a leadership role
- Strong subject knowledge and passion for business and enterprise
- A track record of improving student outcomes
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
