**KS2 / Year 7 Teacher**

Full-Time | September Start | Cranborne, Dorset

Teaching Personnel are delighted to be supporting a specialist SEMH school in Cranborne with the recruitment of a dedicated and compassionate KS2 / Year 7 Teacher to join their team from September.

This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people and creating positive educational experiences for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The successful candidate will work with a small class of pupils, delivering an engaging and accessible curriculum while helping students develop confidence, resilience, and a love of learning.

The school caters for pupils aged 11–16 who require additional support with their social, emotional, and mental health needs. With small class sizes, a highly supportive staff team, and a strong focus on individual progress, the school provides a nurturing environment where pupils can thrive both academically and personally.

The Role

As a KS2 / Year 7 Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Support pupils transitioning into secondary education
  • Create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral teams, and senior leaders
  • Monitor progress and adapt teaching approaches to ensure pupils achieve their potential

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has experience teaching within KS2, Year 6, Year 7, or SEN provisions
  • Understands the challenges faced by pupils with SEMH needs
  • Demonstrates strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • Is resilient, adaptable, and committed to supporting vulnerable learners
  • Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to a vehicle due to the school's rural location

 

Location: Cranborne, Dorset
Start Date: September 2026

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
