Location: Templecombe, Somerset
Contract: Full-Time
Pay Scale: M1 – M6

A friendly, community-focused primary school in Templecombe is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled KS2 Teacher to join their team from January. This position has become available to ensure consistency and stability for pupils during an important stage in their learning. The Role:

As the class teacher for a KS2 cohort, you will be responsible for delivering a broad and engaging curriculum that supports children’s academic, personal, and social development. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Creating a structured, inclusive, and positive learning environment
  • Maintaining strong behaviour management, ensuring consistency and routines
  • Assessing, tracking, and reporting on pupil progress
  • Working closely with teaching assistants, specialist staff, and senior leaders
  • Communicating effectively with parents and carers
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school, including events, meetings, and extracurricular activities

What We’re Looking For:

The school is seeking a teacher who brings reliability, consistency, and confidence to the classroom. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous KS2 teaching experience (Essential)
  • Strong behaviour management and the ability to maintain clear expectations
  • A nurturing approach that builds strong relationships with pupils
  • A reflective, professional attitude and commitment to ongoing development
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team

Vetting Requirements:

This role is offered through Teaching Personnel, and all applicants must complete the relevant vetting and safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS, right-to-work documentation, and employment references. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
