Teaching Personnel are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 2 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Ribbleton, Preston on a long-term maternity cover basis starting in October 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated educator looking to become an integral part of a school's community. The successful candidate will be fully immersed in school life and treated as a permanent member of staff throughout their placement.

The Role

You will take full responsibility for a Year 2 class, delivering engaging lessons that inspire and challenge pupils whilst ensuring continued progress across the curriculum.

Responsibilities will include:

• Full planning, preparation and assessment responsibilities.
• Delivering high-quality lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
• Tracking pupil progress and implementing strategies to support attainment.
• Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
• Building strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
• Attending staff meetings, training and school events as required.
• Contributing positively to the wider school community.

The successful teacher will be well-supported within the classroom and wider school environment, benefiting from:

• A full-time Teaching Assistant supporting the class.
• A dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant supporting a specific child within the classroom.
• Experienced and supportive leadership team.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Has experience teaching within Key Stage 1.
• Demonstrates excellent classroom management skills.
• Has high expectations for pupil achievement and behaviour.
• Is passionate about providing engaging and inclusive learning experiences.
• Works effectively as part of a team and contributes positively to school life.
• Is committed to supporting every child to achieve their full potential.
