Job description
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, creative and committed Year 1/2 Class Teacher to join our friendly and supportive school community. This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding practitioner who is passionate about providing high-quality education and helping every child reach their full potential.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and inclusive lessons that meet the needs of all learners while creating a positive, nurturing and stimulating classroom environment.
Location: Burnley
Salary: £120 - £150 per day
Contract Type: MAT cover
Hours: Full Time
Start Date: Monday 2nd November 2026
The Role
As our Year 1/2 Class Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
- Create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment where all children can thrive.
- Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
- Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and inform future teaching.
- Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND and EAL.
- Promote high expectations of achievement, behaviour and attendance.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school and support extracurricular opportunities where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to drive continuous improvement and raise standards.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Has experience teaching within Key Stage 1, or is an ECT with a passion for this age phase.
- Demonstrates excellent classroom management skills.
- Has strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum, including phonics and early reading.
- Is committed to delivering inspiring and engaging learning experiences.
- Has high expectations for all pupils.
- Is reflective, adaptable and committed to professional development.
- Works effectively as part of a team and contributes positively to school life.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
