Pay Rate: £172.98 per day
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Full Academic Year


About the Role

We are delighted to be recruiting for a passionate, dedicated, and adaptable Secondary School Teacher to join one of our trusted and well-respected partner schools in the Torfaen area. This school is known for its welcoming environment, strong pastoral support, and commitment to helping students achieve their potential academically, socially, and personally.

In this role, you will be responsible for teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of supporting Key Stage 5 depending on your subject specialism and experience. You’ll be delivering engaging, creative, and well-structured lessons that follow the national curriculum, while encouraging students to develop confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning.

Alongside your classroom responsibilities, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to the wider school community—taking part in or running extracurricular clubs, supporting school events, attending parent evenings, and collaborating with colleagues to enrich the learning environment. The school values teamwork and continuous development, making this a supportive setting for both Early Career Teachers and experienced practitioners.

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from individuals who:

  • Have experience—or are eager to gain experience—teaching in a secondary school setting (KS3 and KS4 essential; KS5 desirable)
  • Can plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the national curriculum
  • Create an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment for all learners
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management, behaviour strategies, and confident communication skills
  • Show commitment to student progress, wellbeing, and achievement
  • Have a genuine passion for education and want to make a positive, lasting impact

Requirements

To be considered for the role, you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or be in the process of completing your teacher training/induction

If you don’t yet have all the necessary documentation, Teaching Personnel can support you in obtaining:

  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
  • Level 2 Safeguarding training
  • Minimum two recent professional references covering the 24 months

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
