Job description
We are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic IT / Computer Science Teacher to join secondary schools across Hastings and the surrounding areas of East Sussex. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified teacher who is passionate about technology, computing, and digital literacy, and committed to inspiring students to develop skills for the digital age.
This role is suitable for experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and are looking for long-term, permanent, or flexible teaching opportunities.
The Role:

Teaching Computer Science and IT across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential KS5 opportunities in some schools)

Planning and delivering engaging lessons on programming, digital literacy, computing theory, and IT applications
-
Supporting students to develop problem-solving, analytical, and technical skills
-
Assessing, monitoring, and tracking pupil progress
-
Creating a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
-
Collaborating with the wider STEM department and school staff
-
Promoting safe and responsible use of technology
Essential Requirements:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
-
A recognised degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related subject
-
Strong subject knowledge of the secondary IT / Computer Science curriculum
-
Experience delivering practical computing lessons and projects
-
Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
-
A professional, enthusiastic, and adaptable approach to teaching
-
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
