Intervention Teacher (Temp to Permanent)

Reading, Berkshire
Start Date: January 2026

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a welcoming and supportive school in the Reading area to recruit an Intervention / Cover Teacher on a temporary to permanent basis, starting January 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher who is committed to raising attainment and supporting pupils who need targeted academic intervention. The role also includes elements of general cover, providing variety and valuable classroom experience across year groups.

 

The Role

  • Deliver targeted intervention sessions to small groups or individual pupils

  • Support learners who require additional academic or pastoral support

  • Provide classroom cover when required, following set plans

  • Monitor and track pupil progress, adapting strategies where needed

  • Work collaboratively with class teachers and senior staff

 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds QTS (or equivalent UK teaching qualification)

  • Has experience delivering interventions or supporting pupils with gaps in learning

  • Confident managing a classroom and engaging learners

  • Flexible, proactive, and committed to pupil progress

  • Open to a temp-to-perm opportunity
