Job description

Teaching Personnel are seeking caring, patient and dedicated Teaching Assistants to work on a 1:1 basis with pupils who require additional support in schools across Hastings and the surrounding areas.

These roles involve supporting children with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning, build confidence and achieve their individual targets both inside and outside the classroom. Whether you have experience in education, care, youth work or a similar setting, we'd love to hear from you.

A successful applicant will have:

  • Experience working with children or young people in a school, care, childcare or similar setting
  • A patient, nurturing and resilient approach to supporting individual needs
  • An understanding of SEND and the challenges some pupils may face in accessing education
  • The ability to build positive relationships whilst maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • A sound understanding of safeguarding, with the welfare and wellbeing of children always being the highest priority
  • A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
