About the Role

Are you looking for a truly rewarding role where you can make a daily difference? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic specialist school in Milton Keynes. In this role, you will be supporting children and young people aged 4–19 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and social communication difficulties.

Your focus will be on building strong, trusting relationships with pupils, helping them develop their independence, boost their confidence, and thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tailored Support: Guide and motivate students with autism and communication needs across various age groups.
  • Engaging Learning: Assist class teachers with daily activities and deliver personalised learning plans.
  • Emotional Wellbeing: Help students navigate emotional regulation and promote positive behaviour.
  • Holistic Care: Assist with personal care routines respectfully and with dignity when required.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work hand-in-hand with teachers, therapists, and families to provide wrap-around support.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Background: Experience in a SEND, care, support work, or educational setting is highly desirable, but a great attitude is key.
  • Attributes: A patient, empathetic, and proactive nature with a genuine passion for youth development.
  • Capabilities: Comfortable assisting with personal care and possess excellent communication skills.
  • Mindset: A team player who is adaptive to the unique and evolving needs of our students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
