IT Teacher – Durham Secondary Schools

KS3 & KS4 IT teaching roles, short term and long term opportunities available.

Teaching Personnel is recruiting Secondary School IT Teachers for Durham and surrounding areas. These roles involve teaching Information Technology at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 across a range of secondary schools. We offer both short term supply IT teaching jobs and long term IT teacher roles, providing flexibility, stability, and opportunities for career progression.

These IT teaching jobs are ideal for qualified teachers seeking supply work, long term placements, or permanent opportunities within secondary education.

What you'll be doing:

  • Teaching IT at KS3 and KS4 in secondary schools
  • Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and differentiated IT lessons
  • Teaching core areas such as computer systems, digital literacy, data handling, and basic programming
  • Promoting safe and responsible use of technology
  • Maintaining high standards of classroom management and behaviour
  • Assessing, tracking, and supporting pupil progress in IT

You need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised qualification
  • Experience teaching IT or Computing in secondary schools
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills
  • Genuine interest in technology, digital skills, and IT education
  • Ability to engage and motivate pupils of all abilities
  • Commitment to raising attainment and digital competence
