Humanities Teacher – Bedford / Milton Keynes

Location: Bedford and/or Milton Keynes
Salary: £150 – £250 per day (Pay to Scale – up to UPS3)
Job Type: Full-Time
Start Date: New Academic Year

We are currently recruiting for a passionate and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join supportive secondary schools in the Bedford and Milton Keynes area from the new academic year. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic educator who can inspire students across subjects such as History, Geography, Religious Education, or broader Humanities studies.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • QTS or PGCE ideally preferred
  • Experience teaching Humanities subjects within secondary schools
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Excellent subject knowledge and lesson delivery
  • A passion for supporting student progress and attainment
  • Ability to commit to a full-time position from the new academic year
  • Ability to travel to Bedford and/or Milton Keynes

Applications are also welcomed from highly experienced unqualified teachers with a proven background teaching Humanities in secondary schools.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Humanities lessons across KS3, KS4, and/or KS5
  • Teach subjects such as History, Geography, Religious Education, or Social Studies
  • Differentiate lessons to support students of varying abilities and learning needs
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress and achievement
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and academic achievement
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and senior leadership teams
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
