Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – York
Location: York
Job Type: Full-Time, Temporary Supply Role
Pay Rate: £110–£130 per day (dependent on experience)
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and supportive school in York on a full-time, temporary supply basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident HLTA who is passionate about supporting pupils' learning and development while working collaboratively with teaching staff to deliver high-quality education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver planned lessons and learning activities in the absence of the class teacher.
- Support teaching and learning across a range of year groups and abilities.
- Work with individuals and small groups to provide targeted intervention and support.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers.
- Promote positive behaviour and create an inclusive learning environment.
- Assist with classroom preparation and administrative tasks as required.
Requirements:
- HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience working within a primary or secondary school setting.
- Strong classroom management skills and confidence leading lessons.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A flexible, proactive, and professional approach.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
