Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Christchurch

Full Time | Immediate Start | Ongoing Opportunity

Teaching Personnel are working with a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Christchurch who are looking for an experienced HLTA to join their team on a full-time basis, starting immediately.

The successful candidate will be working within the school’s provision supporting students who require additional emotional and pastoral support. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced HLTA or Cover Supervisor who has a calm, patient approach and understands the importance of building strong, positive relationships with young people.

The Role

• Full-time HLTA position
• Immediate start
• Working within the school’s specialist emotional support provision
• Supporting students with their learning, behaviour and emotional needs
• Building positive and trusting relationships with students
• Working alongside teaching and pastoral staff
• Helping students to engage positively with school and their education

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience working as an HLTA or Cover Supervisor
• Experience supporting students with SEMH is highly desirable
• Confident managing groups of secondary-aged students
• Calm, patient and consistent in your approach
• Able to build excellent rapport with young people
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Passionate about helping students overcome barriers and achieve their potential
