History Teacher – Secondary School – Yeovil

Location: Yeovil, Somerset
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time | Long-term (with the potential to become permanent)
Salary: MPS/UPS – dependent on experience

Are you a passionate and dedicated History Teacher looking for a new opportunity this September?

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in Yeovil to recruit an enthusiastic History Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4 in a supportive school with a strong commitment to high-quality teaching and learning.

The Role

  • Teach engaging and inspiring History lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students.

  • Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum.

  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Support pupils to achieve their academic potential.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the wider school community.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Has experience teaching History in a UK secondary school (ECTs are also encouraged to apply).

  • Demonstrates excellent classroom management skills.

  • Is enthusiastic, reliable and committed to delivering high-quality education.

  • Has a current enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one through Teaching Personnel.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
