History Teacher – Walton-on-Thames

Location: Walton-on-Thames, Surrey
Position: History Teacher
Contract: Full-time / Part-time
Start Date: ASAP / January 2027
Salary: £150–£220 per day, depending on experience and qualifications

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Walton-on-Thames who are looking for a passionate and dedicated History Teacher to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or ECT looking for a new role within a supportive school environment.

The Role

As a History Teacher, you will be responsible for:

• Planning and delivering engaging History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

• Inspiring students to develop a strong understanding and interest in History

• Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of a range of learners

• Monitoring and assessing student progress

• Creating a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment

• Working collaboratively with the wider Humanities department

• Supporting students to achieve their academic potential

• Contributing to the wider school community

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

• Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification

• Have experience teaching History within a secondary school

• Have strong subject knowledge and an enthusiasm for History

• Have excellent classroom and behaviour management skills

• Be committed to raising student achievement

• Build positive relationships with students and colleagues

• Be reliable, enthusiastic and adaptable
