Job description

Are you a committed and engaging History Teacher looking for your next role in the Oldham area? We are currently working with a number of well-regarded secondary schools who are seeking talented History specialists for full-time, part-time and permanent positions, with both immediate starts available and opportunities confirmed for September.

Across Oldham, Chadderton, Royton, Shaw and the surrounding areas, demand for strong History Teachers continues to grow as schools look to strengthen their Humanities departments. These schools are keen to appoint individuals who can bring the subject to life, delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with some opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience. Whether you’re an experienced educator or an ECT looking to secure your first long-term placement, there are roles available to suit a range of career stages.

The successful History Teacher will be confident in planning and delivering engaging lessons that encourage critical thinking and a genuine interest in historical topics. You will be expected to assess, monitor and report on student progress, while creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. Schools are looking for teachers who can manage behaviour effectively, adapt teaching to meet varying abilities, and contribute positively to the wider school community.

Applicants should hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification, along with recent experience teaching History within a UK secondary setting. Strong curriculum knowledge, a proactive approach and the ability to quickly build rapport with students and staff are key attributes our partner schools are seeking. For roles starting immediately, schools are particularly interested in candidates who can step in confidently and make an impact from day one, while September roles offer the chance to secure a permanent position ahead of the new academic year.

In return, you will have access to a wide range of History teaching jobs across Oldham, offering flexibility and choice depending on your availability and preferences. We offer competitive daily rates and salaries, ongoing support throughout your placement, and the opportunity to work in supportive school environments with established leadership teams.

If you are a History Teacher looking for your next opportunity in Oldham and would like to secure a role that fits your career goals, whether that be full-time, part-time or permanent, apply today.
