Teacher of History – Darwen, Lancashire
History Teacher Required | November 2026 – July 2027
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of History to join a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Darwen, Lancashire, from November 2026.
This is a full-time position initially running until July 2027, offering an excellent opportunity to inspire students and contribute to a thriving Humanities department.
The Role
The successful candidate will:
- Teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and challenging lessons that promote student progress.
- Assess, monitor and report on student attainment and development.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Contribute to the wider life of the Humanities department and school community.
The Ideal Candidate
Applicants must:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Have experience teaching History within UK secondary schools.
- Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a passion for History.
- Be committed to raising achievement and inspiring young people.
- Possess excellent classroom management and communication skills.

Contract
Full-time, initially until July 2027

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
