Teaching Personnel work closely with schools across the Manchester area. In particular, we are keen to speak to support staff who live or have easy access to the Stockport area. One of our clients schools is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, who will be tasked with supporting children across KS3 and KS4.
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, the applicant will be tasked with:
- Supporting teaching staff, creating action plans for specific students including those with SEN/SEMH needs.
- Directing other teaching assistants, learning support assistants, behaviour support assistants and ensuring that these staff are consistently looking to enforce school policy.
- Supporting teaching staff, creating resources as well as working with students on an individual basis.
- Working in partnership with the school SENCO, holding progress meetings with senior leaders, subject leaders and parents when necessary.
- Monitoring student behaviour, working with the school’s inclusion team in looking to constantly improve behaviour standards both within the classroom and across the school site.
- Take on the role of a cover supervisor when required, covering staff absences at short notice when needed.
- Work closely with the school’s LAC, developing strong relationships with these students and ensuring that these students are catered for effectively by communicating with carers regularly.
Pay for this position will range between GBP10 and GBP15 per hour.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
