Teaching Personnel is recruiting enthusiastic and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to work in a range of welcoming primary schools across Reading and the surrounding areas.

This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a real impact in the classroom, supporting pupils' learning while gaining valuable experience across different school settings. Whether you're looking for day-to-day flexibility, a long-term placement, or a route into teaching, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

As a HLTA, you will work closely with teaching staff to support the delivery of high-quality education across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons in the teacher's absence
  • Leading whole-class learning activities
  • Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
  • Delivering targeted interventions in English and Maths
  • Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
  • Supporting pupils with additional learning needs
  • Promoting positive behaviour and creating an engaging learning environment

  • HLTA qualification or relevant classroom experience
  • Previous experience working in UK primary schools
  • Confidence leading lessons and managing classroom behaviour
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive, adaptable, and positive attitude

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
