Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Near Callington
Salary: £24,612 FTE (pro rata)
Contract Type: Fixed Term
Hours: 30 hours per week
Start Date: May 2026
A welcoming and supportive primary school near Callington is seeking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from May 2026.
This role will involve providing PPA cover across the school, supporting both pupils and staff. The successful candidate may also be required to cover classes in the absence of teaching staff. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled practitioner to join a diverse and dedicated team.
The Role:
- Providing PPA cover across the primary phase
- Delivering lessons and covering classes when required
- Supporting teaching and learning across the school
- Working with small groups and individuals to support pupil progress
- Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Supporting pupils with a range of needs, including SEND
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have experience working across the primary phase
- Be able to work with flexibility, autonomy, and as part of a team
- Have a proven ability to support and engage pupils
- Be committed to the wellbeing of all children, placing them at the centre of everything they do
- Bring energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude to working with children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
