Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Job description
Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Available After Easter | Experienced, Adaptable, Impact-Driven
A highly motivated and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant is seeking a new and rewarding opportunity within a dynamic and inclusive school setting from the Easter term onwards. With a strong track record of supporting high-quality teaching and learning, I offer a proactive, flexible, and pupil-centred approach that consistently contributes to improved outcomes and positive classroom environments.
Bringing substantial experience across multiple key stages, I am confident in leading whole-class learning in the absence of the teacher, as well as delivering targeted, data-informed interventions that accelerate pupil progress. I have a particular strength in quickly building rapport with pupils, including those with additional needs, and creating an atmosphere where learners feel supported, challenged, and motivated to succeed.
Professional Highlights:
- Extensive experience supporting and delivering lessons across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 (adaptable to secondary where required)
- Proven ability to lead whole-class teaching, ensuring continuity of learning and maintaining high behavioural expectations
- Skilled in planning and delivering focused intervention programmes to support literacy, numeracy, and catch-up strategies
- Strong experience supporting pupils with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH needs, using tailored and inclusive approaches
- Confident in using assessment data to monitor progress and inform next steps
- Experienced in working collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals
Core Strengths:
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- Calm, resilient, and adaptable in fast-paced environments
- Strong communication skills, fostering positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents
- Committed to safeguarding, wellbeing, and inclusive education
- Organised, reliable, and able to use initiative effectively
I pride myself on being more than classroom support—I am an active contributor to the wider school community, dedicated to raising attainment and supporting every child to reach their full potential. I am particularly interested in schools that value teamwork, professional development, and a nurturing yet ambitious ethos.
Available for long-term, short-term, or permanent opportunities from after the Easter holidays. Open to working across a range of settings and keen to bring energy, professionalism, and impact to my next role.
