HLTA – Exmouth
Higher Level Teaching Assistant 

Are you passionate about supporting children with taking the next step in your education career? Teaching Personnel is recruiting a skilled and committed HLTA to support pupils and staff in a welcoming school in Exmouth.

This rewarding role involves working closely with teachers to deliver high-quality learning, leading small group interventions, and providing targeted support to pupils with additional needs. It is ideal for experienced Teaching Assistants ready to progress into a Higher Level Teaching Assistant position.

Role: HLTA
Location: Exmouth
Pay Rate: £1,900–£2,200 per month (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm

As a HLTA, you will:
• Support the planning and delivery of lessons across the classroom
• Lead small group interventions and, where appropriate, cover whole-class teaching
• Provide targeted support for pupils with SEND, including those with EHCPs
• Adapt learning activities to meet a range of needs and abilities
• Promote independence, confidence, and engagement in learning
• Support behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
• Work closely with teachers, the SENCo, and support staff
• Contribute to assessment, tracking, and pupil progress

We’re Looking For:
• HLTA status or significant experience as a Teaching Assistant
• A confident and proactive approach to supporting learning
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English
• A genuine passion for supporting pupils’ development and achievement

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
