High Level Teaching Assistant

We are recruiting a confident and experienced High Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support young people aged 16–18 within a specialist post-16 education setting. This is a full-time position with an immediate start, working 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. Please note that end times may vary on some weekdays in line with the college timetable and activities.

You will be working in an outstanding specialist provision that offers a calm, structured and aspirational environment for older learners. The setting is widely recognised for:

• A person-centred and therapeutic approach

• Strong focus on independence, employability and life skills

• Small class sizes with excellent staff-to-learner ratios

Learners present with a range of Special Educational Needs, including: Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Communication and sensory processing differences and Associated learning and developmental needs

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support small group learning and targeted interventions

• Assist with lesson delivery and curriculum adaptation

• Support learners with emotional regulation and behaviour strategies

• Work closely with teaching, therapy and pastoral teams

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months childcare experience, especially supporting young people with SEN needs

• Experience in HLTA or specialist SEN roles is highly desirable

• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle due to the location

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
