Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Teacher of Health and Social Care to join our thriving secondary school in Heywood. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students and deliver high-quality teaching across Key Stages 4 and 5.

The successful candidate will have experience teaching Health and Social Care within a secondary or post-16 setting and a strong understanding of current vocational and academic specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons in Health and Social Care

  • Teach across KS4 and KS5 (BTEC and/or GCSE/A Level, where applicable)

  • Monitor, assess and track student progress to ensure strong outcomes

  • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities

  • Support students in achieving academic success and progression into further education or careers in health and social care

  • Uphold high standards of behaviour and classroom management

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) 

  • Experience teaching Health and Social Care in a secondary school or college setting

  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of vocational assessment requirements

  • A commitment to raising attainment and supporting student progress

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • The ability to motivate and inspire learners of varying abilities
