Teaching Personnel are seeking a Head of Drama to join a secondary school in the Portsmouth area, catering to students aged 11 to 16. The role:

The school is seeking a Head of Drama to lead the department from April 2026 or September 2026. This full‑time, permanent role involves overseeing the Drama curriculum across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging and high‑quality lessons, and shaping the strategic direction of the department. The successful candidate will manage school productions, coordinate extracurricular Drama activities, and ensure students have access to a rich and inspiring performing arts experience. Responsibilities also include departmental planning, assessment, resource management, and supporting or mentoring Drama staff, while contributing to wider school initiatives and enrichment opportunities.

The ideal candidate:

The ideal candidate will be a qualified teacher with a strong background in Drama or Performing Arts, with experience teaching across KS3 and KS4. Leadership experience is desirable, though the school welcomes applications from teachers ready to take their first step into departmental leadership. The school is looking for someone who can deliver creative, dynamic, and interactive lessons that inspire students of all abilities.
