We are seeking motivated, resilient graduates to join an Award-Winning SEN School in North Birmingham. This isn't just a "helper" role—it is a frontline position in an Ofsted 'Outstanding' environment, designed for those who want to understand human behavior and make a tangible impact on young lives.

Who Fits This Role?

We aren't just looking for one type of degree. We want diverse backgrounds to support our diverse students (Aged 7–18):

  • Psychology & Mental Health Grads: Apply your theory to real-world SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) support.

  • Criminology & Sociology Grads: Gain insights into behavioral patterns, youth justice prevention, and social barriers.

  • Sports & Coaching Grads: Use your leadership and physical energy to engage students through active learning and teamwork.

  • Education & Social Work Grads: Build a solid foundation in safeguarding, EHCPs (Education Health Care Plans), and pedagogy.

The Day-to-Day

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team (including Therapists and Psychologists) focusing on:

  • Mentoring: Acting as a consistent, positive role model for students with Autism and SEMH needs.

  • De-escalation: Learning professional techniques to support emotional regulation and positive behavior.

  • Academic Coaching: Leading small "break-out" groups to help students overcome learning barriers.

  • Advocacy: Reporting on student progress and helping shape their individualized learning journeys.

The "Why" – Benefits & Progression

  • Award-Winning Setting: Working with professionals and purpose built provisions.

  • Professional Pedigree: A high-level addition to your CV that stands out to future employers in Clinical, Educational, or Legal fields.

  • Direct Path to Permanent: Start on a temporary contract to ensure the fit is right, with a clear bridge to a permanent school contract.

  • No Weekends: Enjoy a healthy work-life balance with standard school hours and term-time holidays.

Candidate Requirements

  • Education: A degree in any Social Science, Education, or Sport-related field.

  • Character: You must be "thick-skinned," empathetic, and able to stay calm under pressure.
