Teaching Personnel are currently on the look out for Graduates who are considering a career in education to come and gain experience whilst getting paid! We have a variety of roles available in our partner secondary schools in Sunderland to help you build up your knowledge of Teaching and inform you on whether a career in education is the right choice for you. These roles will include working as either a Graduate Teaching Assistant, Behavioural Support Assistant or Cover Supervisor.
Teaching Assistant:
- Working 1:1 with identified pupils that require additional support within subjects such as English, Maths or Science
- Helping to plan and deliver intervention sessions to raise pupil attainment alongside promoting positive behaviour management
- Work with the Class Teacher to support students in specifically identified areas
Behaviour Support Assistant:
- Working alongside children who require additional support including children with learning or behavioural difficulties
- Build effective rapport with the pupils to help support them and improve poor behaviour
Cover Supervisor:
- Delivering pre-planned work left by a Teacher to the students
- Covering multiple staff
- Ensure that pupils behave in the appropriate manner
- Follow school policies to help the pupils learn whilst their normal Class Teacher is absent
The ideal candidate will be a graduate, potentially looking to move onto their Teacher Training or another role in education, with a desire to gain vital experience and develop their skills. A willingness to travel around the South Tyneside and Sunderland area is highly beneficial, as is having access to your own transport. In return, you will receive up to £400 a week depending on your role within the schools.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
