Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting Graduate Teaching Assistants in Newcastle to support schools and help students succeed in the classroom. This role is ideal for graduates considering a future career in teaching, education, psychology, youth work, or child development.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will gain valuable hands-on classroom experience while supporting teachers and helping students develop academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities

• Support teachers during lessons and classroom activities
• Provide 1:1 support and small group support for students
• Assist with classroom management and behaviour support
• Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Encourage student engagement, confidence, and participation
• Support students who may need additional help with learning

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in any subject
• Interest in working with children, students, or young people
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A proactive and positive approach to supporting learning
• Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply)

Previous experience such as tutoring, mentoring, coaching, youth work, or volunteering with young people is beneficial but not required.
