Teaching Personnel is currently seeking Graduate Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Milton Keynes, starting in September 2026.

This role is a great way to develop your confidence, strengthen your classroom management skills and gain practical experience working with students. Previous teaching experience isn't essential, making this an excellent opportunity for graduates taking their first steps into education.

About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will step in when teachers are unavailable and oversee classes using lessons and resources that have already been prepared.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Supervising lessons and ensuring students complete the work provided.
• Maintaining a calm, positive and productive classroom environment.
• Supporting students with their learning and encouraging participation.
• Managing behaviour in line with school expectations.
• Working with pupils aged 11–16 across different year groups.
• Gaining experience across a variety of subjects and school settings.
• Ensuring safeguarding and school procedures are followed at all times.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for graduates who:

• Have achieved at least a 2:1 degree, preferably in a subject relevant to the secondary curriculum or a related area.
• Are confident communicating with young people and adults.
• Feel comfortable leading and managing a classroom.
• Have a genuine interest in education and supporting young people.
• Are considering teaching as a future career.
• Are reliable, organised, adaptable and able to remain calm under pressure.
• Hold, or are willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
