Are you a budding Graduate looking to get into Teaching? Are you seeking your first step into a permanent opportunity in a Secondary School and gain classroom based experience?

Teaching Personnel are supporting a range of Secondary Schools always keen to hear from Graduates seeking to work in Education.

Our Secondary School clients located in Luton and Bedfordshire are keen to invite Grauates to support in their School as a Cover Supervisor to start their career in Education as well as be part of their School growth. 

The ideal Graduates will be enthusiastic and professional and be considering Teaching in the future.

We have varying contracts available, ranging from short to long term lengths and temp to perm opportunities. We would recommend becoming a Cover Supervisor for 1 year where the School can support you with CPD and classroom based experience with the view to further with responsibilities after one academic year.

What is a Cover Supervisor?

Cover supervisors are suitably trained school staff who supervise pupils carrying out pre-prepared exercises when teaching staff are on short-term absence. The cover supervisor’s main job is to manage a classroom, ensuring that students remain on task with the work they have been set.

This role can typical involve:

  • Supervising / covering lessons already planned and set for a class
  • Managing pupil behaviour for any class you are assigned cover with and implement schools behaviour policy if required
  • Be flexible and able to provide cover across a range of subjects and key stages
  • Be able to provide 1:1 support and answer questions about processes and procedures in line with the school policy
  • Keeping pupils on task to complete their work

What qualities do you need to become a Cover Supervisor?

  • Good communications skills
  • Good Behaviour Management skills

  • Passion for Education
  • Charisma  

The school day usually commences from 08:30am until 15:20pm, it is essential that you are available during these hours for this role to be suitable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
