Geography Teacher
Job description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Geography Teacher to join secondary schools across Hastings and the surrounding areas of East Sussex. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher who is passionate about Geography and committed to inspiring students to explore the world, understand environments, and develop critical thinking skills.
This role is suitable for experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and are looking for long-term, permanent, or flexible teaching opportunities.
The Role:

Teaching Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially KS5 in some schools)

Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons in line with the national curriculum

Using innovative teaching methods to bring geographical concepts to life
-
Assessing, monitoring, and tracking student progress
-
Supporting students of varying abilities to achieve their full potential
-
Creating a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
-
Collaborating with the wider Humanities department and school staff
Essential Requirements:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
-
A recognised degree in Geography or a related subject

Strong subject knowledge of the secondary Geography curriculum
-
Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
-
A professional, enthusiastic, and adaptable approach to teaching

An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
