We are looking for a General Cover Teacher to join our SEMH schools, supporting pupils who may have social, emotional and mental health needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for a teacher who can build strong relationships, create a calm and positive learning environment, and inspire young people to engage with education.

The Role

As a General Cover Teacher, you will:

• Deliver engaging lessons across a range of subjects and year groups.

• Provide consistent, supportive classroom management.

• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.

• Adapt your approach to meet individual learning and behavioural needs.

• Maintain a calm, structured and nurturing classroom environment.

• Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams and school leaders.

• Encourage pupils to develop confidence, resilience and independence.

• Support the wider life of the school when required.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• A qualified teacher or experienced educator.

• Confident managing challenging behaviour in a positive and supportive way.

• Patient, resilient and emotionally intelligent.

• Adaptable and able to teach across different subjects.

• Passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

• Able to establish clear boundaries while building positive relationships.

• Committed to safeguarding and the wellbeing of every pupil.

Experience working within SEMH, SEN or alternative provision is desirable, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
