GCSE English Teacher required for September 2023

Are you a passionate and dedicated GCSE English Teacher? Are you committed to developing students' language skills, critical thinking, and literary appreciation?

Teaching Personnel are working with a prestigious secondary school is seeking a talented GCSE English Teacher to join their department starting in September 2023.

Position: GCSE English Teacher

Start Date: September 2023

Location: Portsmouth

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging GCSE English lessons that align with the curriculum requirements.
  • Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation and critical analysis of texts.
  • Develop effective strategies for teaching reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills, tailored to the needs of individual students.
  • Utilise a range of assessment methods to track student progress and provide timely feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement curriculum materials and resources.
  • Provide guidance and support to students, helping them to improve their literacy skills and achieve their full potential.
  • Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and school events that promote a love for English language and literature.

Requirements:

  • Qualified teacher status and a relevant degree in English or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching GCSE English, with a comprehensive understanding of the exam board requirements.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring students' love for English language and literature.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that addresses the needs of diverse learners.
  • Innovative and adaptable teaching methods that cater to different learning styles and abilities.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of current educational practices.
