About the Role
As a Functional Skills Tutor, you’ll work with students of varying ages and backgrounds to build their confidence and capability in essential literacy and numeracy. You’ll deliver engaging, tailored lessons that prepare learners for exams and future opportunities.
Location: In-person tutoring in Worksop
Subjects: Functional Skills English and/or Maths
Pay Rate: £25–£30 per hour
Key Responsibilities

Deliver one-to-one or small group sessions tailored to individual learning needs

Support learners working towards Functional Skills qualifications

Break down complex concepts into accessible, engaging content

Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to learners and stakeholders
What We’re Looking For

Experience teaching or tutoring Functional Skills or similar qualifications

Strong subject knowledge in English and/or Maths
-
A patient, adaptable, and encouraging approach

Excellent communication and organisational skills
-
A teaching qualification or relevant experience (desirable)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
