Job description

Functional Skills Tutor – S45, Chesterfield

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Functional Skills Tutor to support learners in the Chesterfield S45 area. This is a rewarding opportunity to help students develop confidence and improve their English and Maths skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and adapt Functional Skills sessions in English and Maths
  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support
  • Adapt lesson content and teaching methods to meet individual learner needs
  • Monitor student progress and encourage engagement
  • Create a positive and supportive learning environment

Requirements

  • Experience tutoring or teaching Functional Skills, English, or Maths
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to support learners with different abilities and learning needs
  • Patient, flexible, and supportive approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply

Role Details

  • Location: Chesterfield, S45
  • Working Days: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: Part-time / Flexible
  • Pay: Competitive rates
