Functional Skills Tutor – Birkenhead (CH41)

Are you passionate about helping learners build confidence in English and Maths? We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Functional Skills Tutor to support students in the Birkenhead (CH41) area. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact by helping learners gain essential skills for life, work, and further education.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Deliver engaging one-to-one or small group Functional Skills sessions (English & Maths)
  • Support students in developing core literacy and numeracy skills
  • Adapt lessons to suit individual learning styles and needs
  • Inspire confidence, motivation, and progression
  • Track and report on student development

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience teaching or tutoring Functional Skills (English & Maths)
  • Experience working with children or young people (SEN experience is a plus)
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A patient, adaptable, and supportive approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • Right to work in the UK

Working Hours:

  • Flexible, part-time hours
  • Weekdays (Monday to Friday)

  • Birkenhead, CH41

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
