Job Title: Fully Qualified Teacher of the Deaf (ToD)
Location: High Wycombe
Start Date: ASAP
Working Pattern: Full-time, 5 days per week
Teaching Personnel is seeking a fully qualified Teacher of the Deaf to provide specialist support for a pupil with hearing loss within a welcoming school based in High Wycombe. This is a full-time position starting as soon as possible, ideal for an experienced and passionate practitioner who is committed to ensuring children with hearing impairments can access the curriculum and thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
About the Role
As a Teacher of the Deaf working through Teaching Personnel, you will:

Deliver tailored support to a pupil with hearing loss, ensuring inclusive and accessible learning.

Advise staff on effective strategies, resources, and classroom adaptations.

Work collaboratively with the school’s SENDCo, class teachers, support staff, and parents.

Contribute to EHCP targets, progress reviews, and specialist intervention plans.

Promote confidence, independence, and positive communication skills.
Requirements

Mandatory: Qualified Teacher of the Deaf (MQ Teacher of the Deaf) or equivalent specialist qualification.

Proven experience supporting children with hearing loss in educational settings.

Strong understanding of hearing technology, communication methods, and adaptive strategies.

Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
