Job description

A mainstream secondary school in Poole is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis from February 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate practitioner to deliver engaging and practical Food Technology lessons within a supportive and forward-thinking department. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons that inspire students and promote a strong understanding of food preparation, nutrition, and food science.

The role will involve:

  • Teaching Food Technology across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience is desirable but not essential)

  • Planning and delivering creative, practical, and theory-based lessons

  • Assessing, monitoring, and tracking student progress

  • Maintaining a safe, well-organised, and inclusive learning environment

  • Contributing to the wider life of the school and department

The school is looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Has experience teaching Food Technology in a secondary school setting

  • Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills

  • Is committed to raising attainment and inspiring learners of all abilities

  • Works well as part of a team and builds positive relationships with students and staff
