Pay: from £100 for unqualified to £190 for fully qualified
Contract: Full-time, with potential to extend
We are working in partnership with a specialist school in Ormskirk to recruit a Food Technology Teacher, Instructor, or Cover Supervisor for a full-time role starting in January, initially running until Easter 2026, with the potential to extend.
This position is open to qualified teachers, cover supervisors, and non-subject specialists who have a genuine interest and passion for cooking and food preparation. The school is committed to providing on-the-job support, guidance, and training to help the successful candidate succeed in the role.
The Role:

Delivering engaging Food Technology lessons to secondary-aged pupils

Supporting pupils to develop practical cooking skills, confidence, and independence

Following existing schemes of work, with flexibility to adapt lessons as needed

Managing the classroom and practical environment safely and effectively
The Ideal Candidate:

Has a strong interest or background in cooking, food, or practical subjects

May be a qualified teacher, cover supervisor, or an individual from a non-teaching background
-
Experience in education, catering, hospitality, or youth work is advantageous but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
