About the Role
We are seeking a passionate, creative, and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Preston from April 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to deliver high‑quality Food Technology lessons, inspire young people, and contribute to a successful and supportive department.
The successful candidate will have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching Food Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4. You'll bring strong subject knowledge, a commitment to practical, engaging teaching, and the ability to motivate students of all abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental planning
- Prepare students for practical and written assessments
- Ensure safe and effective use of equipment and practical spaces
- Track, monitor, and report on student progress
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extra‑curricular activities
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement
Requirements
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) – essential
- Experience teaching Food Technology in a UK school setting
- Strong classroom management skills
- Excellent communication, planning, and organisational abilities
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
- Creativity and passion for developing students’ practical skills and confidence

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
