Are you a recent graduate interested in a career in teaching but wanting to gain further classroom experience?


We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to provide general classroom cover across secondary schools in the Wigan area from September 2025.

About the Role:

  • Start-date: 1st September
  • Ongoing/long-term with opportunity for permanent contract
  • Part-time and full-time roles available
  • Opportunity to earn £90 to £120 per day (dependent on experience)

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining a positive and productive learning environment when regular teachers are absent. You will supervise classes, support students’ learning, and ensure continuity of education during cover periods. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in a school setting and make a difference to young people’s education.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage behaviour effectively and maintain discipline
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a professional attitude
  • A passion for working with young people and supporting their learning
  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting is an advantage but not essential
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in education or youth work welcomed

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
